Pandora’s box (office): the Avatar influence in images

Even though CGI ought in theory to place no limits on visual imagination, in Hollywood the worlds of Neanderthal prehistory, of fairytale fantasy and of the SF future all somehow end up looking the same, as two releases this week, The Croods and Jack The Giant Slayer, both show their vast debt to the 3D vistas of Pandora in James Cameron’s Avatar:
